Kitzbühel - Hahnenkamm mountain
From its location on the Hahnenkamm, the camera looks out over the slopes that are home to a notoriously tough downhill ski race. The Hahnkamm is one of the world’s most dangerous and difficult downhill runs, where competitors plunge down the “Streif” – the ribbon. Outside of racing season, the run is open to the public, along with the area’s other 170 kilometres of pistes. In summer, the area around the “chamois town” of Kitzbühel also has plenty to offer, such as a hike to the top of the Kitzbüheler Horn. If you prefer to pedal, you can choose from 800 km of mountain bike trails and cycle paths.
Kitzbühel - Hornköpfl - View of the Kitzbüheler Horn
The HD live webcam is located above Kitzbühel on the Hornköpfl and looks out at the Kitzbüheler Horn. With a height of 1,996 m it only just misses being a 'two-thousander'. It is a popular Alpine peak that can be reached on foot, by cable car or via a scenic road. The mountain is topped with a 102-metre TV tower, along with a mountain restaurant and an Alpine flower garden that boasts more than 300 different plant species from all over the world. From its position below the summit, on the flank of the Kitzbüheler Horn, the HD live webcam shows the distinctive Wilder Kaiser mountains. On the other side of the valley, you can see the Streif - the route of the famous Hahnenkamm race, one of the world's most dangerous downhill ski runs - as it winds its way down to Kitzbühel in the valley. The town is also the starting point for the Kitzbüheler-Horn bike race, one of the steepest road cycling challenges in Austria.
